Well, it’s said in the title. That album is unfortunately short but (my opinion) very good from the beginning to the end!

  2. Justin B. Mcclendon says:

if your a fan of suicide silence you’ll probably like these guys.

that’s just to put it to you in short.

  3. Kenny Roy says:

The problem with this Record does not lie in it’s length. There is a reason the cd is priced lower, and you pay for what you get. Im personally glad that its not 50 minutes of Born of osiris breaking out ear drums and only half that. But boy is this music tasty. Abstract art may be the greatest death metal song ever and has the greatest breakdown in history IMHO. The Synths give the album a taste of variety, but SLIGHTLY more variety structurally would boost this 4.5 star to a 5 star rating. Hopefully they get it right on “A Higher Place”, released in a week or so. Check these young geniuses out!

Wait this album is only 25 minutes long? Well, I forgive them because this band really does have some of the sickest breakdowns ever written. Albiet short, it is very good. Sumerian Records has been signing some great bands, this is my favorite of there new additions. However the length of “The New Reign” Detracts heavily from how great it is. Just the same I do not regret buying it and I still listen to it all the time. Check these guys out.

I pre-ordered this back when it was first released. I’ve had some good time to think on the album, and about a year and half after it’s release, I still love it.

Let’s start with the obvious, it’s technical without being dizzying and it’s short almost to a fault. The melodies follow a good harmonic balance against dissonance, never straying too far into any “specific” genre, maintains a good sound that remains very listen able. I’ve had the album in a frequent rotation since It’s conception, never really getting tired of the tracks.

Recently in the last 4-5 months the rumor of the follow up album began, and sometime in early 2009 the album should be released. I have only two things to say, please make it longer, as this album is almost EP length but still stands on it’s own against albums twice the length, and please update the production, which wasn’t terrible, but it’s faults have been noticed.

I loved this album, and I will continue to enjoy it, I just want something with more on it. I won’t rate this down for the short but intense and memorable ride, I just hope to have either another track on the new album, or a couple of songs to be a little fuller.

Again this album was all about quality and not quantity, and as such they did really good at what they wrote, never stretching past their means, and never falling short of good rhythm and technique.
